AN ANALISYS OF SNOWBALL TECHNIQUE IMPLEMENTATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING ENGLISH : TEACHER'S AND STUDENT'S CHALLANGE'S
This study aims to identify the obstacles faced by the English teacher and grade VIII A students of SMPK Kotagoa Boawac, Nagckco, in implementing the Snowball Technique. Using a qualitative method, data were collected through classroom observation, video recording, and interviews with the teacher and ten randomly sclectcd studcnts. The findings show that the tcachcr strugglcd with prcparing materials, managing time, controlling noise, addressing students' varying proficiency, and assessing contributions fairly. Students faced psychological and linguistic obstacles, including shyness, fear of mistakes, limited vocabulary, and uneven participation. The study concludes that although the technique makes learning more active, its implementation is hindered by limited proficiency, confidence, and classroom management.
